Many of us have experienced the feeling that John was somehow singing just for us and that he was truly our friend. In the lyrics he wrote and in the passion you can feel behind his voice, John was always trying to communicate the joy of living and the greatest connection we all share called the Spirit. For this concert, we’ve selected songs that tell a story about some of the many ways we’ve felt a connection with John in our lives.

Fans and friends who have been to my shows know I like to put together setlists that are a bit unusual -- I prefer to perform songs that are seldom played or heard in a live setting. This year's songs will include:

-- Country Love

-- Two Different Directions

-- Spirit

-- In the Grand Way

I hope you'll set aside that extra $20 bill so you can attend my show! I'd love to help make your Friday night in Aspen a most pleasant and memorable experience, as we enjoy together some of the best acoustic music ever written -- the music of John Denver!

General admission $20. No advance sales, please pay at the door (cash only, please!) THANK YOU so much!

Aspen Meadow Band presents ‘It Amazes Me’

5pm  Limelight Lodge Aspen, Colorado 81611
Aspen Meadow Band would cordially like to invite you to a special evening of music that celebrates the wonder and fascination that John Denver had for other musicians and musical avenues. Over the years we saw John pair up or share the stage with some incredible musicians such as Frank Sinatra, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Peter, Paul, and Mary, Johnny Cash, Glen Cambell, Emmylou Harris, and countless others. We also heard John cover some of the most popular tunes of the times from artists like The Beatles, The Grateful Dead, Chuck Berry, The Band, Pete Seeger, Steve Goodman, Buddy Holly, and James Taylor.

Our desire for this show is that you would be uplifted and brought back to many of the good times you experienced listening to the hits we’ve included and that you might be able to join in with us as we share in John’s joy and fascination for some pretty incredible musicians. To take this concept one step further, we’ve also included works by artists and bands that we know John would have loved and likely shared the stage with if he had the chance. Come ready to enjoy a pretty incredible range of music!

As usual, Aspen Meadow Band concerts are free. At this concert, there will be the opportunity to make a donation to a representative of the Aspen Camp of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Read more about this wonderful organization below.

Please join us at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 15th at the Limelight Hotel in the Monarch Room (355 S Monarch Street, Aspen, CO 81611). We so look forward to sharing our feelings through John’s music with you all.

About the Aspen Camp of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

For nearly 50 years, Aspen Camp has shaped the lives of thousands of Deaf and hard of hearing children across the globe. Our 17 ½ acre campus in Old Snowmass, Colorado serves as a natural playground and an experiential classroom amidst the stunning terrain of the Maroon Bells Wilderness. Beyond the scope of an unforgettable outdoor experience, Aspen Camp’s extensive curriculum encourages increased self-esteem, self-identity, leadership skills, and friendship.

Deaf children have little control over their circumstances, particularly because they are unable to easily and consistently access communication surrounding them. The lack of social identity coupled with inadequate communication creates threats to self-esteem and as a result, Deaf people are inclined to hold under-developed and negative self-perceptions.

At Aspen Camp, our highly trained and motivated staff share common backgrounds and experiences with our participants and serve as both advocates and role models. We do not address hearing “impairment,” but rather, focus on each child’s holistic development and well-being.

Our comprehensive activities and curriculum allow children to explore their own identity through social interaction, art and theater, wilderness expeditions, teambuilding activities, and opportunities for leadership. The positive and consistent outcome of our programs is increased efficacy, self-esteem, leadership skills, social proficiencies, critical thinking skills, positive values, decision making, language education, and identity.
